This is Pakistan’s premier beer brand. It is named after the location of the original brewery, started in 1860 to cater to the requirements of British troops stationed there. The original brewery was closed down due to a water scarcity problem in the 1920s and brewing shifted to Rawalpindi and Quetta.
The company – now owned by Parsis - also happens to be the oldest continuing industrial enterprise in Pakistan.
