375. Italian, German, French?

-->X was created by the Italian Giovanni Maria Farina in the 17th century. At the time Germany had stringent laws for immigrants but Farina was granted citizenship. As a result, to show his gratitude he named his creation in the honor of his new German home town. Farina gave his creation a French name as in the 17th and 18th century French was spoken in European high society and also used by tradesmen.
